High Heel Shoes in Pink by Kayo Ishu
58 plays

animujukebox:

[C] - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control is an anime by Tatsunoko Productions.

The singer is Kayo Ishu, who also did a track for the Black Butler anime, and is largely a studio artist apart from that. Her strong voice is definitely what carries this track.

High Heel Shoes in Pink is the last track played in the show, and while some people may say that Ishu’s accent detracts from the song’s English lyrics, I feel it adds a sort of charm that meshes well with the backing strings.

Lyrics:

When I was young
I dreamed a sunny day
And I had high heel shoes in pink

The passing train seemed to be fast for me
But I wished my life would be so nice

My time capsule in the spring yard
I opened it and layed a little sunlight

There was a love
No rain, no tears, no lies,
Flying high to that sunshine

When I was young
I dreamed a sunny day
And I had high heel shoes in pink

My time capsule from the old days
Such unforgettable rays

Mint and bicycle
Alive in this future
We dreamed a dream to be so free

When I was young
I dreamed a sunny day
The day we repeat “I love you”

All this belongs to me
Your heart beat is singing
My Sweet, high heel shoes brought my dream

98 year old dobri dobrev, a man who lost his hearing in the second world war, walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.

though a well known fixture around several of the city’s chruches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages, living instead off his monthly state pension of 80 euros.

there’s still good in this world

The Disney Princesses as “something.” Even still I always find it interesting when someone takes a beloved character and changes perspective on it. Plus its an interesting design challenge, to change a character drastically while keeping them recognizable and making the changes believable.” -CR

During the Bubonic Plague, doctors wore these bird-like masks to avoid becoming sick. They would fill the beaks with spices and rose petals, so they wouldn’t have to smell the rotting bodies.

A theory during the Bubonic Plague was that the plague was caused by evil spirits. To scare the spirits away, the masks were intentionally designed to be creepy.

I need a Venetian plague mask.

I’m so obsessed with these.

I like that the plague may have been caused by ghosts and instead of praying them away people decided to scare them off. Someone’s like “so there’s these demons what can we do?” And someone else goes “let’s scare them.” And everyone agrees that it’s a reasonable plan, to make things creepy enough to frighten invisible monsters. People were pretty badass back then.

In June of 2009, a rare total solar eclipse blanketed certain portions of the planet in total darkness. Czech photographer Miloslav Druckmüller traveled to the middle of the Pacific ocean to the Marshall Islands to capture the incredible event.

To create the photos above, he compiled over 40 images shot from two different cameras.
